Gold or silver?

If you wear jewelry all the time then you probably know whether gold or silver looks best on your skin tone.

For me it’s gold. Silver always made my skin look super pale and washed out, but gold brightens it back up.

People with cool undertones look best in silver while people with warm undertones look best in gold. If your skin undertone is neutral then you are one lucky duck and can wear either.

Cool undertones are blue, red, or pink, and warm is gold, olive, or yellow.

You can find your undertone by looking at the veins on your wrist. See what color they are, then find which color matches the warm or cool.

For me, my veins appear green, which makes me have a warm undertone.

Why I don’t wear rings

I have always thought rings were so cute. In theory, I would love to wear them, but they are just so uncomfortable.

They also get in the way and often get caught on clothing items such as sweaters. This sucks for me because I wear sweaters all the time during most months.

Whenever I see a friend at school wearing a ring, I always think to myself that I should be wearing some, but it just doesn’t work for me.

Maybe if I found a thin gold band, then I could wear them. But until then, I’d rather just stick to wearing necklaces and earrings (which are my absolute favorite types of jewelry).

4 Jewelry Items that go with any outfit

Why simple is better when it comes to jewelry

Simple jewelry is amazing. It just is.

It can go with any outfit and will be used often, compared to statement pieces that are only worn on special occasions. Many women look great with statement jewelry and can wear it as an everyday look, but for me, on a day to day basis, I would rather just have something simple.

I just want something simple and easy that I know looks great and is of high quality.

What’s trendy right now?

Jewelry trends are ever-changing, but these are some that I have noticed in the past few months of 2020.

Jewelry trends for 2020:

  • Chokers
  • Stars
  • Statement necklaces or earrings
  • Butterflies
  • Chunky necklaces
  • Gold jewelry in general

Minimal and Simple Jewelry for Teens and Millenials

4 Must-Have Simple Jewelry Items:

My Favorite Earrings

1. Gold huggie hoops

For my second hole, I always wear my gold huggie hoops.

They are simple and minimal, go with everything, and look great paired with other gold earrings.

The huggie hoops are one of my favorites because they lock in the back, so you don’t need to take them out constantly. This means that they can stay in for long periods of time.

They also don’t bother you when you sleep, which is a huge bonus.

2. Thin gold baby hoops

In my first piercing, I wear thin gold baby hoops.

This hoop is relatively small but still bigger than the huggie hoops. This earring pairs well with the huggie hoops because it doesn’t overpower.

Since it is so thin and small, it looks very simple, minimal, and elegant.

My Favorite Necklaces

3. Gold star necklace

My favorite thing to do with necklaces is to stack them, which is exactly what I do with these next two.

A gold star necklace can look stunning on its own or when layered with other necklaces.

This necklace looks great with every outfit and pairs well with the items mentioned above. Just like everything on this list, it is very simple meaning that it is versatile and minimal.

4. Simple gold necklace

A simple gold necklace looks amazing with the star necklace. It is an excellent layering piece because it is so simple and minimalistic.

This necklace could also be paired with any other gold necklace and would look great.

Just like the necklace above, the gold necklace matches perfectly with the star necklace and two gold earrings.

All of these pieces could be worn by themselves, but when together, they complement each other so much.

  1. I love rings too and wish I could wear them more! But I too wear sweaters a lot which causes problems and sometimes rings make my fingers hurt for some reason! Necklaces are my fave!
