Hey girl! Thanks for visiting me over here at Cara A Carmen. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy this post that is perfect for the start of the school year. If you are looking for outfits that you can just throw on and still look super stylish, then these 15 comfy and cute back to school outfits for lazy girls are going to be perfect.
Some days, I just want to grab a pair of sweats and go. But for school, this isn’t the cutest outfit and can make you receive a bunch of comments like, “wow you look really comfy” or “I wish I could wear that”.
So, we aren’t going for that because we’re going to dress cute. As the phrase goes, work smarter, not harder. In this post, we will be applying this idea of looking great with little effort.
If you’re a lazy girl who also struggles with running late, then make sure to run over to this post ASAP.

So, just to make things a little bit easier for you, I grouped similar outfits together mostly by what their bottoms were. This just shows that you can truly make so many fashionable looks out of a small amount of clothing. These 15 comfy and cute back to school outfits for lazy girls will change the way you view easy fashion.
How to style flowy tailored pants:
Okay, so first up, we have 3 outfits that all include flowy pants. Flowy pants are one of my favorite school clothing staples because they feel like pajamas, but look super cute.
1. Cropped sweater + colorful or plaid tailored pants
This first outfit is all about showing off your colorful pants. Just grab a simple cropped sweater, these soft pants, and you’re good to go.
This outfit is perfect for the Fall and early Spring because it is so cozy and comfy.
2. Oversized cozy sweater + flowy tailored pants
When it is getting a bit chillier during the winter months, you should swap out your cropped sweater for an oversized one. Oversized sweaters are the best and make me feel so cozy and comfortable all day.
This outfit is great for when you just rolled out of bed and want to go because it is so easy.
3. Fitted long-sleeved shirt + flowy tailored pants
During early Fall and late Spring, you should be wearing a fitted shirt with your flowy tailored pants. Depending on the weather you can wear long sleeves or shorts.
This outfit looks especially cute when you tuck in the shirt to your adorable pants. If you want to upgrade this fit, try adding a simple black or brown belt.
How to style black pants:
Next, we have black pants. Since I go to private school and have a semi-strict dress code, I wear black pants all the time. Even if you don’t have a strict dress code, you should be adding a pair of black pants to your set of clothing staples because they are just so easy and go with everything.
4. Black tank top + button-down cheetah jacket + black pants
This outfit is my all-time favorite lazy but put-together outfit because it just makes you look like you tried so hard when you actually didn’t. Since black tank tops aren’t allowed in most dress codes, you can pair it with a fleece button-down jacket. My favorite is cheetah print with neon green accents.
Every time I wear this fit, I always get compliments which are so awesome because it shows that my laziness is paying off lol.
5. Oversized ¾ zip pullover + black pants
The next look you can create with black pants is a little bit simpler and more casual than the one before. When I’m rushing out the door, I like to pair an oversized pullover with black jeans.
The ¾ zip pullover looks so much better than just throwing on a sweatshirt, yet it is just as easy.
6. Oversized turtleneck + oversized denim jacket + black pants
When it is cold outside, I like to pair an oversized turtleneck with an oversized denim jacket and black pants. This look will keep you warm and super cozy.
It is great because the jacket is layer-able, so you can choose to keep it on or take it off. It is important to make sure your denim jacket is big enough to fit over your turtle neck without it squeezing you and making you look like a marshmallow.
How to style bell-bottoms:
Next up on this list, we have one of my absolute favorite and go-to pants, bell-bottoms! Bell-bottoms are amazing because they make your legs look long (perfect for me because I’m a short girl) and upgrade your outfits without you having to do any of the hard work.
7. Tank top + sweater + black bell-bottom
During the fall, it is awesome to wear a tank top with a sweater overpiece. This outfit looks best when your tank top is the same color as the pants. So, since our bell-bottoms are black, you should wear a black tank top.
This outfit is super easy and great for all seasons because you can add layers or just go without them and wear the tank top with the pants.
8. Turtleneck + black bell-bottoms
A fitted turtleneck with bell-bottoms is such a magical outfit. It is honestly one of my favorites. This outfit is perfect for the fall and winter because it is so cozy.
It also makes you look super put together when you just grabbed a few basic pieces. For all of these outfits with bell-bottoms, I suggest wearing booties that have a slight heel.
9. Fitted black long-sleeved shirt + black bell-bottoms
This is an all-black look. Anytime you go monochrome, you will look more put together. This outfit is simple by itself but you can upgrade it by including a statement belt or jewelry.
You could also add your favorite pair of shoes to make it feel more like you. Make sure that you tuck in your fitted shirt so that the look appears more organized.
10. Oversized t-shirt + black bell-bottoms
I call this look the chic homeless man. Bell-bottoms are one of my safety blanket items, so when I’m looking to be extra comfy one day, I pair them with an oversized t-shirt.
This outfit looks the best when your oversized t-shirt is actually a cute shirt that you love and enjoy, not just your pajama shirt.
How to style dresses:
I generally go in and out of phases of liking dresses, but what I always love is being comfortable. Dresses are awesome for every season, but especially the Spring and Fall.
11. Comfy dress + oversized jacket
Grab your favorite comfy dress, this can be a t-shirt dress or a fitted bodycon dress, it’s all up to you and what your preference is. Just choose something that makes you feel confident and comfortable.
Pair your comfy dress with an oversized jacket and boom. You’re done! Fashion done quickly and easily.
The best shoes for this outfit are a statement pair of sneakers or a cute pair of booties. It all just depends on the season and what your personal style may be.
12. Oversized t-shirt + oversized jacket
For this look, we are going to be turning a cute oversized t-shirt into a super stylish dress. To do this, just pick out your favorite large shirt and pair it with an oversized jacket. I think that a black denim jacket would look the best, but it is all up to you.
To make this look more casual, pair it with a pair of sneakers, but if you want to dress it up, then go for the boots.
Also, remember, no matter how simple an outfit is, you can always dress it up with jewelry.

How to style other items:
This section of the post is for outfits that didn’t fit in the other categories, but are still super cute and easy to wear. All of these outfits are really comfortable and require minimal effort, but will look great at school or just in general.
13. Oversized pullover or jacket + black joggers
This outfit is great for when you just rolled out of bed and want to wear something super comfy all day. If you couldn’t tell already, I love oversized clothing, and this outfit is no exception.
My favorite oversized jacket is from the North Face and it is plain purple, super simple. I pair this with black joggers and then I’m good to go.
14. Cropped sweater + mom jeans
If you have a more lenient dress code and are able to wear jeans, then this look is for you. This outfit is great for the start of school because it looks so cute, but is super easy.
Just grab your favorite simple cropped sweater and pair it with your light-wash mom jeans. The light wash will give off a more summery vibe, so during the winter months, you can change it to a darker wash.
15. Cropped t-shirt + flowy shorts
Lastly, when it is so hot outside, you need shorts. But at school, your butt can get glued on to the chair (sorry this is TMI, but I know all of you can relate) so don’t go for a tight pair. It is better to wear loose flowy shorts.
Flowy shorts look awesome with a cute cropped t-shirt. This outfit will keep you cool during the warmer school months and will help you stand out. You can pair this look with your favorite pair of platform sandals.
