Wow! I can’t believe it’s almost November. This year has flown by, with the exception of March and April of course. This week, I wanted to share my favorite self-care activities. I give you 10 Fall self-care ideas to make the most of the season.

The activities I listed are just some of my favorites, but let me know in the comments what yours are! Fall is my favorite season and I love everything fall themed. The leaves changing, the cool air (an amazing break from the humid Kentucky summers), and the absolute rad vibes.

What more could anyone ask for?

Let’s get into my 10 Fall self-care ideas to make the most of the season before I continue rambling on about how much I love fall!

10 Teen Self care ideas for the fall season

1. Drink tea or coffee

One of my favorite ways to easily incorporate self-care into my daily routine is by drinking a warm drink. I prefer tea, but I’m sure there are lots of y’all who would love a nice cup of coffee.

Drinking a cup of tea is a great way to sit and reflect. I love to drink tea in the mornings while I sit at my kitchen table and look out the window. It is super peaceful and helps me gather all of my thoughts together before a long day.

My favorite type of tea is peppermint or green tea, but if you are looking for a more fall vibe, then you could try something with cinnamon or pumpkin. Chai kind of gives me fall vibes, so if you are looking to try a new drink or just love chai, then I would highly recommend it to get you into the fall spirit.

2. Go for a walk

While the weather is still nice and not too cold, you should be spending as much time as possible outdoors. The fall weather is perfect for taking neighborhood strolls, hiking in your favorite state park, or for just sitting in your backyard.

I love to walk my dog, Tilly, during the fall because the leaves are so pretty! She also loves the leaves and when she was a puppy, she even tried to eat them.

Walks are a great time to gather your thoughts and to separate yourself from daily stress. That is why I like to go on walks after school so I can calm my mind before starting homework. Remember to take advantage of the weather and get some vitamin D girly! We all need to be spending more time outdoors.

3. Apple picking

Next up is a super fun activity. Apple picking can be a social event or you can use it as a form of self-care (it’s up to you of course). Fall is filled with caramel apples, apple orchards, and hayrides.

The next time you have a free weekend, try going to your local apple orchard! This activity is great because you can use the apples you picked to make a dessert. You could make a cobbler, pie, or whatever you want.

Cooking is another self-care activity that can be very relaxing. Not to mention, you’ll get to have a yummy treat afterward.

4. Pumpkin patch

Similarly to apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch is a more active self-care activity. Pumpkin patches are so much fun and a great family activity too. Going to a pumpkin patch also has multiple benefits because you can spend time outside, carve the pumpkins, and cook the seeds.

This activity is great for fall and one that’ll definitely be memorable. If you are someone who likes to be doing more active things but still want to do some self-care, then this is perfect for you.

5. Journaling

Journaling is one of my favorite ways to include self-care into my daily life. It is so beneficial and helps me gather all my thoughts together. As a more anxious person, journaling has made me feel more at ease and make better decisions.

Journaling is a great indoor activity for when the weather gets too chilly. It is super fun to get wrapped up in a blanket and just write. While you can journal at any time during the year, during the fall, it is especially festive.

6. Movie night

Need an activity for when it gets too cold to be outside? Why not have a movie night! Movie nights are a great way to binge your favorite series, watch spooky movies, or your favorite 2000s chick flicks.

A movie night is a perfect way to relax after a long day and just spend some time doing nothing. In life, we often waste so much time being preoccupied with our thoughts, so it’s important to take a break.

If you want to watch some movies with friends, then try Netflix Party. My friends and I do it all the time and it is so much fun.

7. Pumpkin face mask

Are you into skincare? Do you want some glowing skin? Do a fall-themed face mask! I love a good spa night and find it to be so rejuvenating. I would not suggest doing a DIY face mask, but you can buy some inexpensive sheet masks at Walmart or Target.

Face masks are so much fun and make me feel really relaxed. Taking some time to focus on yourself is never time wasted, so don’t feel guilty. Take a night to spend some time pampering yourself.

8. Dye your hair darker

If you have brown hair like me, then I’m sure you understand the feeling. You are sick of your natural hair and just want to try something new and different. Maybe you’ve tried highlights before or a totally different color.

Fall is the perfect time to experiment with some hair color. Due to the weather getting colder, I love to dye my hair a darker shade of brown. It is super fun to do and makes me feel really pretty. I use a temporary dye that washes out, so it’s not permanent.

If you are looking for something more long term, then I would suggest going to a salon rather than doing it yourself. Either way, changing up your hair can do wonders!

9. Wear a cozy outfit

Fall is my favorite time of the year because it is so cozy. I love all of the sweaters, coats, jeans, and booties. This fall, make sure to dress in your coziest outfit. Stay warm in your favorite sweaters and comfy pants!

Cozy clothes can make you feel more confident and festive. Fall has amazing fashion, but remember that you don’t have to be fashionable all the time. Take a day or two to wear what makes you happy and comfortable this season.

10. Read a book

After a long day at school or work, take some time to rest before bed. My favorite way to do this is by reading on my Kindle. Reading is super relaxing and is much better for your eyes than looking at a phone before bed.

I know reading isn’t some people’s thing, but you should just try it. Next time you want to scroll through TikTok, try reading a chapter in your book instead.
