Why I took a break from blogging

Hey girlies! Wow, I feel like I haven’t been here in forever. It feels strange to sit down and write something like this, but I’m happy to be here. Also, hey! Take a look around the new space! Isn’t it just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? I loveeee it!!

Today I just wanted to hop on here and let you know why I’ve been so inactive lately. Many of you who have been following my blog since the beginning have probably been noticing that I haven’t been posting very frequently. I just wanted to apologize and let you know why.

Also, you can expect to see lots more frequent posts over the next few weeks and emails! I will be posting every other Wednesday from now until further notice! Btw you should def join my email list and subscribe for notifications! Okay, I’ve been blabbing for too long, let’s just get into the post.

First of all, let me just say how grateful I am for all of you that have followed me on this new page! I’m sorry for all the confusion of shifting sites, but it no longer made sense for me to pay for a domain. Okay, but this isn’t really relevant to anything so I’ll just get into it.

Oh, I almost forgot! But FYI this is going to be a pretty chatty post and not usually what I post on here. Not sure if I would call it a “blog post blog post” because it’s more like a life update I guess.

So, obviously, I have pretty much ghosted my blogging fam and this has been due to my increased workload in school and with taking on the podcast. I started the podcast in August believing that I would easily be able to take care of that along with the blog, but it quickly turned out to be a bit much.

I was getting burnt out and was really struggling with balance between school, the blog, and podcast. It was super overwhelming and way too much work, especially for someone who is in some pretty demanding classes. So, I decided to take a break from blogging/ post less.

This was super hard for me since I am not used to giving myself breaks because I convinced myself that if I took an extended period of time off of blogging that I would quit. Obviously, I’m here now, so that has not been the case. But, it was really scary stepping back because I felt like I was giving up control even though all I was doing was giving myself the space to create balance.

I’m here to say that if you are feeling burnt out because of your workload or activities that you are doing that it’s okay to take a break. It isn’t healthy to keep going and just tell yourself “I’ll push through” if you aren’t feeling so great. It is okay.

Please remember that your mental health is more important than keeping up with a consistent posting schedule. I promise that your followers will understand and they will be grateful that you are taking care of yourself first!

I’m honestly really proud of myself for taking a break and for taking the time to focus more on myself. I also want to thank y’all for continuing to always support me no matter what platform I’m on! The podcast has really been taking off and I’m so happy! Your endless support and encouragement mean the world to me!

Stay tuned for more exciting content also the way! I hope that you have an amazing day and holidays! Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

  2. Hey Carmen! I’m so happy you’re back and doing what’s best for you. Nobody can ask anything more and still be reasonable. When you’re thriving and feeling confident in your choices, your audience will sense that too and gravitate towards the good energy. No need to apologise- blogging, like anything else, must come from the heart. It will only be an enjoyable and rewarding enjoyable process if you’re doing it from a place of passion and not necessity.

Sending lots of love and light your way! What are your plans for Christmas? x
